The 51 House is the new place to be on the Chowan River! Join Rose for a memorable dining experience in a beautifully appointed facility. Spectacular and distinctive menu choices and an excellent wine list are just the beginning. The restaurant is located just beside the the north end Edenhouse Bridge and commands views across the mouth of the mighty Chowan. There is always a crowd gathering at the distinctive bar , which is centrally located and was designed by the TV show "Bar Rescue". Wood panels and adornments from a locally famous tugboat which sank a third and final time near the site were reclaimed, and metal from the old Mackey's to Edenton rail trestle which crossed the Albemarle Sound are notable as you study the craftsmanship of the construction. There are photos and artifacts to peruse on every wall.
The 51 House also has loads of outdoor space for warm weather entertaining and they boast the only fuel dock on the Chowan, with both non-ethanol gas and diesel. Check the website for weekly events yearround, and be sure to give them a like on Facebook.
